1-8 JULY: WINTER WONDERS  

Location: Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens

Kirstenbosch is hosting its annual Winter Wonders special, where families get the chance to explore the gardens and learn about indigenous flora. All children aged 17 and under gain free access to the gardens and kids visiting Moyo Kirstenbosch in this period will be treated to a jam-packed entertainment programme with free activities. These include movies, drumming, slime making, arts and crafts and so much more. Find out more »

1-28 JULY: CAPE TOWN JIVE FUNNY FESTIVAL

Location: Baxter Theatre

Performing at the 2019 edition of the Funny Festival are comedians like Alan Committee, Emo Adams, The Big Boys, Lindy Johnson, Sifiso Nene, Carvin H Goldstone, Kev Orkian and Matt Tarrant. Find out more »

1-31 JULY: KINKY BOOTS

Location: Fugard Theatre

The South African debut of this award-winning musical comes to Cape Town for its first run. It started on 11 June and continues until 15 September. Fans of the 80’s icon Cyndi Lauper can’t miss it as she penned the score and the lyrics.​ Find out more »

1-31 JULY: ART SA EXHIBITION

Location: Richard Crowie Hall, Kirstenbosch

Only Invited South African artists will be exhibiting at this show which runs until 11 August 2019. Professional artists are invited to exhibit and will do so in a variety of media and styles. This exhibition allows each artist to showcase their beautiful works of art. Find out more »

5-14 JULY: STELLENBOSCH INTERNATIONAL CHAMBER MUSIC FESITVAL

Location: Stellenbosch University

Bringing classical music and youth development to the fore, this prestigious international event gives aspiring young musicians the chance to perform in a musical extravaganza of evening recitals, chamber performances and orchestral concerts. Find out more »

6 JULY: ASTRONOMY OUTREACH

Location: V&A Waterfront

The Cape Centre of the Astronomical Society of Southern Africa is unpacking a range of high-powered telescopes at the V&A Waterfront’s Pierhead on Saturday 6 July. There will also be experts from the Astronomical Society on hand, so you can learn more about our solar system and the cosmos while observing the Sun, the Moon and other heavenly bodies through the telescopes. On this date, participants will be able to see the Sun, Venus, Jupiter, Moon, Saturn, and Mars. Find out more »

12 & 25 JULY: POP UP DINNER

Location: Zeitz Mocca Food

Zeitz MOCAA Food is heating things up this winter season with a series of exciting pop-up dinners. Each dinner will have a new menu and consist of three different options under the starter, main and dessert courses. Each item will be individually priced but guests will have the option of a two-course meal for R145 per person and a three-course meal for R175. Find out more »

13-14 JULY: BASTILLE FESTIVAL

Location: Franschhoek

Locals and visitors to the valley will be celebrating the region’s centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at the annual Bastille Festival. As always, the focal point will be the Food and Wine Marquee, where Franschhoek’s award-winning and famous wine estates are offering their finest wines for you to taste alongside mouthwatering dishes from acclaimed chefs and live music all day.
