2 November: Lecture by Jane Taylor on William Kentridge

2 November: Wild Shots – Wildlife Photography Symposium
Wildlife photography is hugely popular in South Africa, and Wild Shots provides the first centralised event of its kind, bringing together amateurs and professionals alike, to learn from, and be inspired by, the best in the business. 3 November: Shane Cooper’s MABUTA in Concert
Enjoy an evening of world-class music at the Norval Foundation’s Concert Series as they present MABUTA; a super-group comprising some of the best contemporary jazz artists from South Africa, their performances are emotional, coercive and inspiring – all the characteristics you look for in a live act. 9 November: Pink Polo
Now in its 10th consecutive year, the Pink Polo event at Val De Vie Estate promises to be a day and night of glitz and glam all in aid of raising awareness for breast cancer and paying tribute to survivors of the disease. Find out more »
9 – 10 November: Stellenberg Garden Open Day

From 20 November: Whitney Houston Tribute: The Greatest Love of All
Belinda Davids, with the accompaniment of a live orchestra and band, backing vocalists and choreographed dancers, plus state-of-the-art sound, lighting, vision and theatrical effects creates a beautifully crafted tribute to one of the world’s most revered singers, Whitney Houston. MONTHLY AND WEEKLY EVENTS
The first Thursday of every month sees the city come alive with all things art and design. Museums, shops and bars are open till late with thousands of people ambling along the streets exploring the vast array of art, design, live music and performance that has come to define Cape Town as a cultural African mecca. The V&A Waterfront’s Silo Concerts Series has established itself as a popular platform for creative expression attracting the best local artists and performers for Capetonians and visitors to enjoy. Gate 69’s The Trolley Dollies kicks off their summer season in the faux-fur animal Queendom with the show. OUR RESTAURANT OF THE MONTH
It’s easy to understand why locals have fallen head over heels for this retro-cool grocery store, deli and hangout spot that’s as haute as it is homely. Arthur’s Mini Super is a family-run café and deli serving good food and coffee and offering an array of local small-batch produce. Pop in for the famous toasted sandwiches, hotdogs and deli plates and take home some fresh bread and a jar of something delicious, like anchovy butter or Willy’s Chilli.
