Your Timeless Journey Awaits...

One of the major tributaries of the great Zambezi River.

No trip to Zambia is complete without a visit to the Luangwa Valley. One of Africa’s most successful conservation initiatives, the Luangwa Valley is a prime wildlife sanctuary, with incredible concentrations and varieties of game and birdlife that have made it world famous. This is the landscape of the ‘Real Africa’, with herds of antelope roaming the plains and countless predators ensuring dramatic game viewing at its finest.

One of the four largest rivers in Zambia

The Luangwa River which flows through the valley is one of the major tributaries of the great Zambezi River, and one of the four largest rivers in Zambia.

Wildlife conservation in this area dates back to the late 19th Century when the British South Africa Company, established by Cecil John Rhodes, was in charge of the administration of this land and put a ban on hunting of hippos, buffalos and many other species which today are bountiful in the valley. The region is home to 60 mammals including elephant, lion, wild dog, buffalo, hippo and antelope, as well as over 400 bird species and as a result is a spectacular African safari destination.

"We visited South Africa, Zambia, and Botswana. The accommodations were next level. There are no adequate words to describe the experience in the bush with the Big 5 and beyond. The people are the most gracious, appreciative, and kind I’ve ever encountered. If you want a worry free, experience of a lifetime you must use Timelines Africa. I can’t wait to go back!!"
