James, Nina and Alex wanted to see as much Wildlife as possible in an authentic a way as possible. East Africa fitted the bill perfectly – from seeing the Ngorongoro Crater floor brimming with wildlife, to the spectacular plains of the Serengeti to witness the migration at the right place at the right time and moving on to the Maasai Mara for incredible up-close wildlife experiences. Completing this journey – coming face-to-face with the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda was truly life changing.
Arriving into Kilimanjaro, James, Nina and Alex were warmly welcomed in VIP style and a private transfer saw them arriving on the same day at the Ngorongoro Crater. After descending the Crater, a full day was spent on safari. The trio were treated to a magnificent wildlife spectacle as they traversed a variety of landscapes, from open grasslands dotted with game, soda lakes coloured pink with flamingo and dense riverine woodland, with the rising walls of the crater framing every view.
A short privately guided safari drive from Ngorongoro to Ndutu, saw James, Nina and Alex arriving in the pefect location to witness the Migratory Herds located in the south at this time of the year.
The family headed further into the Serengeti for an authentic Under Canvas stay, with full day safari drives to make the most of their time.
Moving from the Serengeti across to the Maasai Mara in Kenya via a few flight connections, the family arrived at the pefect location set on the banks of he Sand River. Their days were filled with safari drives, walks and learning from the local Maasai warriors.
Following the last safari drive, the trio took a short flight to Nairobi, where they visited the Giraffe Sanctuary. An evening flight saw them arrive in Kigali in time for dinner and relaxation before their Gorilla trekking adventure began.
The family explored the City of Kigali on a guided tour, which included the Genocide Memorial, which gives context and understanding of the remakable Rwandan people. A privately guided drive along the hills saw them arrive at the Volcanoes National Park. From here Nina, Alex and James hiked and spent a life-enriching hour with a family of Mountain Gorillas – an incredible ending to their journey.
A private road transfer saw the family back to Kigali for a relaxed dinner at one of the city’s great restaurants.
The family returned to Kilimanjaro where some time was spent at a working Coffee Farm – where they could explore, taste and meet locals in this charming town.
Nina, James and Alex bid a fond farewell to Africa, as they departed from Kilimanjaro back home.
