Your Timeless Journey Awaits...

Commonly referred to as the “Green City in the Sun”

The vibrant metropolis of Nairobi is the capital of Kenya and its largest city. Its name is derived from a Maasai phrase that translates to “The Place of Cool Waters”, but it is more commonly referred to as the “Green City in the Sun” and is surrounded by several expanding lush, verdant suburbs.

One of the most prominent cities in Africa in terms of politics and finance, Nairobi is home to numerous companies and organisations, including the United Nations Environment Programme and the UN Office in Africa. Nairobi has established itself as a hub for business and culture and the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) is one of the largest in Africa, ranked fourth in terms of trading volume.

The city has a bustling energy and there are plenty of modern pleasures to be enjoyed such as theatres, cafes, nightclubs and expensive restaurants. The City Market, National Museum, Arboretum (with an excellent collection of East African flora) and the superb Kenya Railway Museum are all must-sees. This bustling commercial centre has much to offer travellers that seek to experience travel in Africa in its true yet modern form, rather than simply the usual African safari, and is the perfect starting point on any trip to Kenya.
