The primary source of fresh water for wildlife in the region

As the 6th largest national park in Tanzania, Tarangire National Park takes its name from the large winding river that runs through the park. As the primary source of fresh water for wildlife in the region, the park sees a high concentration of game in the dry season. The surrounding area is scenic with granitic ridges, Acacia woodlands, seasonally flooded grasslands, and massive Baobab trees – much loved by the many elephants.
