Your Timeless Journey Awaits...

Bwindi is home to an astounding diversity of flora and fauna

One of 20 national parks in Uganda, this protected area is part of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and is situated along the border of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and next to Rwanda’s Virunga National Park. Bwindi is home to an astounding diversity of flora and fauna, with some of the richest populations of trees, small mammals, birds, reptiles, butterflies and moths in East Africa, and some 400 critically endangered mountain gorillas. Daily treks to see one of the 14 habituated gorilla families generate most of the revenue for the Uganda Wildlife Authority which is tasked with their conservation, while the number of visitors is tightly controlled to prevent risks to the gorillas and degradation of the habitat.
