Queen Elizabeth National Park

Situated in southwestern Uganda, the Queen Elizabeth National Park spans nearly 2,000 square kilometres and is the country’s most-visited national park and premier game- and bird-viewing destination. One of its most popular attractions is its tree-climbing lions but the wildlife experience also includes sightings of buffalo, hippo, Nile crocodile, African bush elephant, leopard and chimpanzee. The landscape in the park is extremely varied and visitors can explore volcanic cones and deep craters, the Kazinga Channel linking Lake Edward and Lake George, and the tropical rainforests of the Kyambura Gorge, also known as the “Valley of the Apes”.
