Secluded Romance on the Zambezi

A VIP agent waited to receive them at the International Airport, holding a board with their names on it. After being escorted through immigration and baggage collection, Jody and Sid met our representative, Joanne, who accompanied them to Inter-Continental Hotel.

After a flight from Johannesburg to Livingstone, they were ushered onto a helicopter for a thrilling fly-by over Victoria Falls, then onto their accommodation where a warm welcome from the family-owned-and-run Royal Chundu lodge staff awaited them. A sunset cruise on one of Africa’s grandest rivers in a spacious pontoon boat gave the couple a chance to relax with refreshing G&Ts, watching crocodiles slipping off the river banks into the water alongside snoring hippos.

Jody and Sid crossed over the border to Chobe National Park for a two-night stay to observe some of the largest elephant herds in Africa on safaris from the comfort of their mobile safari tent featuring an en-suite bathroom and steaming-hot bucket showers. They enjoyed morning and afternoon game drives led by professionally trained guides, private boat cruises and taking in the magnificent scenery while dining beneath the stars on delicious meals prepared over an open fire.

The couple moved on to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp for a deluxe entry into the Okavango – one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. Hopping into a mokoro (canoe) for a river safari took them up close to elephant, buffalo and lion, as well as the smaller riverine highlights like the pale pink lilies, miniscule frogs and kingfishers.
