Your Timeless Journey Awaits...

About Mozambique

Go diving and snorkelling or deep-sea fishing around the Bazaruto Archipelago, visit colourful markets and interact with the vivacious local people. Sail a dhow through mangrove channels, relax under the shade of the palms in the Quirimbas Archipelago, or sip an espresso at one of Maputo’s bustling sidewalk cafés. Seafood lovers will be in heaven; there is an abundance of freshly caught seafood available almost everywhere.

With a wide variety of tours and trips available, this land has a rich and varied history to be explored. Colonised by Portugal in 1505, Mozambique has a strong colonial heritage and an interesting recent past, including a civil war that waged for 15 years. Since peace was reached in 1992, the warmth of its people and the beauty of its landscapes have brought many visitors to the country and helped it to prosper.

The best time to visit Mozambique is over the dry, winter season, May – November. December to April is the rainy summer season, although it has sporadic downpours and then the sun comes out. Note that January – February is possible cyclone season and we don’t recommend travelling to the islands over this period.
