Michael wanted a quintessential bush and city experience to share with his young family. Located in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve on the banks of the Marico River, Morukuru was the perfect destination for an exclusive-use bush retreat. With no schedules, all activities were tailor-made to suit the family’s needs. From exploring the wilderness on game drives, fishing safaris and bush walks in the company of their expert ranger and tracker, the little ones could enjoy fun, educational activities under the supervision of trained staff. The family then headed on to the Cape, where they could be as busy or relaxed as they wished, with a variety of activities, cultural encounters and world-class restaurants at their doorstep.
Arriving at Johannesburg International Airport, a VIP agent met Michael and his family to escort them through immigration, assist with baggage collection and their onward flight to Madikwe’s Morukuru Farm House. Morukuru Lodges provides a choice of family-orientated adventures including customised game drives, bush walks, and bird watching outings accompanied by a guide and a gifted Shangaan tracker. Accompanied fishing expeditions, mini-bush walks in non-Big 5 territory, baking and swimming were just some of the junior activities on offer, with a babysitting service allowing parents to take some time to themselves with absolute peace of mind.
Days five to 12 of their trip was spent in Cape Town. After breakfast and check out, Michael and family took a private charter flight from Morukuru Farm House to OR Tambo Johannesburg Airport where they were met and assisted with their connecting flight check-in. Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, an agent met with them to connect with their driver in the arrivals hall for a transfer to The One & Only Hotel at the V&A Waterfront, where they were free to explore the city and visit its most iconic spots at their leisure.
After their final hotel breakfast and check-out, the family hopped onto their private transfer to Cape Town International Airport where they were met and assisted with check-in on their way home.
