Q & A with Kaylin

What do you love most about your job?

The opportunity to create amazing experiences for my guests.

What is your favourite African travel destination?

Zambia is one the most peaceful countries in the world, great hospitality and very welcoming. Home to the mighty Zambezi River and the breath taking Victoria Falls. Excellent adventure activities such as helicopter flights, canoeing with Hippos and crocs, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, bridge swinging, walking with Rhinos, interacting with Elephants and so much more!

Have you ever been thrilled or nervous on safari?

I must admit that, on my first game drive ever at Phinda Private Game Reserve; I was absolutely taken by this Lioness and her cubs that were feasting on a freshly killed Zebra. The Lioness approached the vehicle approximately 1 metre away from where I was seated and I could hear my heartbeat! This was an absolute thrilling experience.

Name your favourite restaurant in Cape Town?

Marigold Restaurant in Franschhoek – situated in a great location, Indian cuisine bursting with flavours – the ideal spot for families or friends.

What is your best Cape winelands estate?

Boschendal in Stellenbosch situated less than 20 minutes from Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. Beautiful old Cape Dutch feel, fresh meals daily as all ingredients are grown and produced on the estate! Great venue for weddings, for families, for couples and friends.

Which trip is still on your bucket list?

Namibia is definitely on my bucket list. I want to take a hot air balloon ride over the sand dunes, interact with the local tribes and cultures, and especially quad bike in the dessert!
