Hi Belinda and team
The trip was absolutely amazing!
I’ll start with Botswana: the guiding at Sandibe was fantastic. They took their job very seriously and did a great job accessing the wildlife. It’s really something to witness how the first creature in the wild captures one fully, then the next day meeting some elephants or giraffes on one’s path becomes part of everyday life in the outdoors. We all adapted quickly.
The lodge at Sandibe, the accommodation, food and service was unbelievable and each meal was presented with such care and finesse. Every time we returned to the lodge we were greeted with drinks and interested staff. Our food waiter looked after us for every meal and he was fantastic. A smiling face and he couldn’t do enough for us. We loved the scenery there, the termite mounds were fascinating, the sunsets and the palm trees were very unexpected.
The first afternoon our guide found a leopard perched on a tree branch, to shelter from the afternoon heat, and so well camouflaged we needed the experience of Jonas and Trust to find her, what an introduction to Botswana. We saw 4 of the big 5, there were no rhinoceros but we are very content with Sandibe and would highly recommend the lodge.
We loved Cape Town – it was both fascinating and confronting to experience Robben Island, a township , a drive to Cape of Good Hope, Table Mountain and to Stellenbosh. The lunch at the Delaire Graff estate was for us the most memorable meal and we couldn’t believe how beautiful the vineyards are there. There are no words to describe the natural beauty and ruggedness of Cape Town, nestled between the mountains and water, every turn reveals new wonders, whether another sandy beach, another mountain range or the harbour and the ocean.
