Jack & Judy in Kenya & Tanzania

You communicated so well with us. Setting up the trip with you by phone and in follow up emails was a breeze!

I think we must have sent you a million questions and you were so patient in answering every question and concern. You really worked hard to tailor a trip to our wishes and you more than rose to the task.

So many highlights!!! The hot air balloon ride definitely. We really enjoyed that we had private safaris and were not with other groups. You made each stop so special by mentioning we were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. We were so surprised that each lodge recognized that and celebrated it. Very Special.  All the animals we saw were amazing and fabulous but what really made the trip was sharing the culture, learning about the people, our fabulous guides sharing their stories.  I could go on and on…

  • Karen Gables – the perfect place to transition from our flight! So beautiful and relaxing! Our guide Michael was great and the visit to the Elephant Orphanage was just fabulous and a highlight of the trip.
  • The Mara Bushtop and entire staff were amazing!  Lawrence runs a terrific lodge and was eager to do anything we asked. Daniel and Sam were the best guides ever. We learned so much from them and about how they live and work besides the amazing safaris they took us on with Lee and Brenda. Lee and Brenda commented that they had seen more animals with them than in any other place they visited and LEE! He was having a blast – especially with wort hogs We loved having lunch outside by the salt lick and watching those amazing giraffes and other wild life just feet from us.  The tent!, the hot water bottle, Happy Anniversary spelled out in coffee beans on our bed!

The Hot Air Balloon Ride – WOW!!!!! So glad we rescheduled to do this – a highlight! Masai Village – loved it!

  • Nimali Mara – a very nice lodge but it was challenging for me to get up to the reservation main lodge are and then to navigate so many steps and the stone steps with no railings.  They did put us at the room closest to the main lodge and restaurant so that was good. Our safari guide Yusuph was exceptional!  So passionate, knowledgeable and friendly.  While we were only there two days, he made us feel like family as did our wonderful Nora!.  She was our main server and really took us under her wing. Here is where I earned my African nickname Mama Poley Poley! Mama slowly slowly! Nora was there to always help me get up and down those steps, talk and visit , make time for whatever we needed. Even going back in the kitchen to fix me a fruit drink herself when there was no kitchen service yet. She and Yusuph even set up a sunset by the fire on the lodge grounds by the reception are just for us when I was just too tired for that sunset safari.  I wanted to adopt them both and take them home with me!
  • Lemala Nigorongoro and the Crater – loved our guide Comfort – he made us feel very comfortable and what a character!  Expert guide in all ways and we enjoyed our car ride adventures, the villages, and the Crater safaris with him! The rim in the rainforest is an amazing place and the Crater below was spectacular! The camp was a surprise!.  This was what we would consider our “roughing spot.  We did not expect just the 9 tents, only solar power, the “bucket shower” and only space heater BUT…  again, an experience we would not have had anywhere else so “When in Rome” Right?  The service was great, food great, very nice meeting interesting guests in the cozy dining tent and then yes – our Anniversary surprise a cake made especially for us and I cut it to share with the staff and guests – very and exhausting.

Loved the culture trip to the village and the lunch amongst the banana trees.

Wish we had planned an extra night at the coffee lodge. Got there too late in the day and left too early in the morning to enjoy it but a beautiful room!

Traveling to and experiencing the people, places and amazing animals of Kenya and Tanzania was beyond fabulous made even that much more magical because we worked with Timeless Africa Safaris in planning this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

AND FINALLY Thank you, Louise, for sharing my concerns about my physical limitations with each lodge and place we visited. Everyone was so helpful. I never felt unsafe walking, climbing steps, or getting in and out of the safari vehicles, whatever I needed I felt supported and helped everywhere we went.
