We spent 10-nights in South Africa and would have loved to extend the trip and continue exploring. Our two most favorite parts of the trip were hiking Table Top Mountain with our fabulous, very knowledgeable and polite guide Nick one early morning (5am pick up!) and our time on Safari. Seeing all of the animals in their habitat and being a part of their world was a memory we will never forget.
NICK (Hiking Guide) – Incredibly polite, knowledgeable, and you could tell that he really enjoyed his job, which made it even more fun for us. He was a joy to be around and knew all of the best “photo spots” along the hike which we love. We were not sure if a guide was 100% necessary for the hike but after being with Nick we realized how necessary it was as the trails are not as clearly marked as we thought and there were not many people around either. He was a great addition to our trip and made it really fun for us!
The trip organization and planning was made very easy thanks to Louise! 🙂 She was incredibly accommodating, quick to reply with travel updates and tweaks made prior to our departure and all of her suggestions were outstanding. We both said that we would do this trip EXACTLY the same all over again and suggest it to anyone. Something that Matt and I both really enjoyed was having a driver and greeters at the airport with us every step of the way. It made the trip incredibly easy and took stress out of arriving in a new country/destination.
Our driver/tour guide, Mervyn, was amazing. He was very sweet, knowledgeable about EVERY WHERE we went and made us feel safe the entire trip. We loved having someone to greet us with a smile everyday, provide interesting details and facts about each place we visited and he had wonderful advice on places to go too. It was such a luxury to not have to call an Uber, or feel “lost” in such a large place and always have someone there.
The packing list too was very helpful. Overall, we felt incredibly well prepared for all of the activities that were planned!
Every single place we visited and stayed we would stay again. They were all above and beyond our expectations. The One & Only even put together a really sweet “wedding suite” for us one night and decorated the room with fresh rose petals, champagne and chocolate. The entire trip was magical.
We loved the opportunity to stay at 2 wineries while we were there so that we could get a feel for each, but Babylonstoren was by far our favorite. We could have stayed a few days there and never would have been bored. It was beautiful in every way and the staff were amazing.
This was truly a trip of a lifetime for us!
